NOTICE (3/11 9:30 am): The Town Offices at 81 Main Street have limited services available to the public at this time. This is typically a busy time at the Clerk's Office. With limited capacity to process transactions, we appreciate your patience as we work through this issue.
Due to a significant network issue, the phone lines are not in service and the offices at the 81 Main Street building are closed, with the exception of the Clerk's Office, which has limited services available.
The Clerk's Office are ONLY accepting payments of cash or check for water/sewer and tax payments, and dog registrations. Paper receipts are being issued.
IMPORTANT: The clerks in the office are unable to look up payment amounts due.
If urgently needed, birth and death certificates can be obtained from any town or city office.
PAYMENTS and Services ONLINE: Online payments and other services are working and available through the Town website at www.essexvt.gov/online - note that online payments incur a convenience fee charged by Value Payment Systems for using the service.
