The Champlain Water District worked until 12:30 am Wednesday morning to complete the repairs and get the water system back online. Site restoration work will continue throughout today. This was a tough break and could have been worse if not for the operators, transmission crew, and management team at Champlain Water District. We appreciate the professionalism and dedication of the CWD staff working on this repair.

The Champlain Water District has decided to continue with the break repair this evening. The CWD transmission main will be offline starting at 4:30 pm. The system flows have been bypassed through the distribution system and all of the lower end of Essex (Fort Ethan Allen, Susie Wilson corridor, and Painesville) should have water throughout the night. Some residents may experience lower pressures than normal, but this will return once the main is repaired and put back in service. This works is expected to be completed by 2:00 am. The Town of Essex and CWD appreciates everyone’s patience working through this repair.
